As a a Metro Atlanta Regional Park Chastain has so much to offer, from a historic 18 hole public golf course to art classes at the Chastain Arts Center. In fact the park has something for everyone including an urban horse park, a 6500 seat outdoor amphitheater, tennis center, year round swimming, ball sports, walking trails, 40,000 sq foot playground, outdoor grills and an urban farm. The Chastain Park Conservancy is now offering online gardening tips for you to establish your own backyard fruit and vegetable garden. The classes are taught through our partnership with the North Fulton Master Gardeners. You will meet several local Master Gardeners who have been teaching on site at Farm Chastain since 2014. Classes will vary from Soil Testing, Composting at Home, Herb Gardens, Vegetable Planting, Container Gardening and many others. As a means of introduction, Farm Chastain began in 2013 as a rehabilitation program for Veterans with acquired brain injuries. As interest in
the program grew, the Conservancy received a grant from the Kendeda Fund to build ADA accessible farm beds. Today the farm has 18 beds and growing and has offered free classes to individuals, families, local schools, garden clubs and Piedmont Cancer Wellness patients. Our harvest is used for teaching purposes and all surplus is donated to local foodbanks. We thank our Conservancy members who make this program possible through their annual gifts.
