As Chastain Park continues to welcome more than 3 million visitors each year, the need for accessible, natural greenspace continues to grow.
At Chastain Park Conservancy, we’re focused on a meaningful next step.
The Palisades project will open approximately 30 acres of previously inaccessible landscape, creating new spaces where people can walk, gather, and experience a quieter, more natural side of the park.
Key elements include:
• A one-mile trail system
• Open spaces for passive recreation
• An outdoor classroom and natural play area
• Scenic overlooks with elevations approaching 40 feet
• New connections to Nancy Creek
Together, these improvements expand access to nature while supporting long-term environmental stewardship and community well-being.
We are currently building support for this effort, with early leadership gifts helping advance planning for the Palisades, expanded trail system, and the Sam Massell Bridge.
The best way to understand this project is to see it.
We invite you to schedule a site walk or golf cart tour, we would be glad to share the vision and what’s ahead.
