The Chastain Park Conservancy is thrilled to announce that the playground will undergo a renovation this winter! This exciting project is set to transform the space into a state-of-the-art play area that’s fun, accessible, and welcoming for all ages.
This transformative renovation is made possible through a collaborative partnership between the Chastain Park Conservancy and the City of Atlanta, working together to create a playground that reflects our shared commitment to inclusivity and community.
The renovation will feature brand-new play equipment, offering modern and imaginative experiences for kids of all abilities. Say goodbye to the aging wooden structures and get ready to welcome vibrant, inclusive play areas. Highlights include accessible equipment designed to ensure that every child can join in the fun, expanded shaded areas to keep things cool and comfortable year-round, and a newly designed treehouse to replace the one we lost in 2022. We are pleased to share that certain parts of the playground will remain open during construction, ensuring continued access for families to enjoy the park while the transformation takes place.
We can’t wait to unveil the new playground to the community. It will remain a cherished gathering place where families make memories, neighbors connect, and laughter fills the air. Construction is set to begin in December, with the grand reopening planned for the end of January.
