Discover What To Look For

Discover What To Look For at Chastain Park’s new outdoor classroom. This interactive photo project helps visitors spot the plants, wildlife, and fungi that thrive along this Nancy Creek tributary. This area, once nicknamed “Kudzu Canyon,” is no stranger to restoration work. For the last four years Woods Keeper has worked with the Chastain Park Conservancy to continue those efforts and regenerate native habitat. As invasive species are removed and suppressed, native biodiversity grows dramatically. We recently counted over 70 different native plant species here!

As you explore the lowlands, look for native and invasive plants, towering trees, and forest wildlife. The photos in this project highlight what has been found here so far and invite you to notice what’s around you. See something interesting? This community science project allows you to submit your photos and help document the beauty of Chastain Park.

Servicing parks & greenspaces, private residences, and commercial properties, Woods Keeper offers invasive plant removal by hand including privet, English ivy, kudzu and more. Working carefully and efficiently, Woods Keeper aims to preserve, promote, and propagate native plant communities that support local wildlife.
