Welcome E. Rivers Elementary School!

When the bell rings on the first day of school next week, a new group of students will take their seats in the building that formerly housed Sutton Middle School.  The E. Rivers Elementary School community will be our temporary neighbors while their new buidling is being constructed at the corner of Peachtree Street and Peachtree Battle Avenue.

Mark Thursday, October 3rd on your calendar because you won't want to miss the 9th annual CPC Fall Fundraiser, "On A Green and White Night of Stars."  The annual event will take place under the stars at the Chastain Park Amphitheatre at 7:00 PM.

Storm Damage and Tree Removal

The stormy weather this season has kept our Director of Operations, Ray Mock, and his team busy this summer with tree and debris removal and general storm clean up.  In addition, the CPC conducts a monthly hazardous tree inspection of park property and makes recommendations to City of Atlanta park officials on which trees could present future problems and need to be removed.

Grab a "Savi" Snack

Out and about in the Park and need to grab a quick bite or quench your thirst? Look for the Savi Wagon!  Now operating, the Savi food truck features a variety of delicious and heathly options.

Please Provide Your Feedback!

In our continual effort to provide an enjoyable park experience for our CPC members and friends, we would appreciate your thoughts and feedback.  We hope that you will take a few minutes to complete a quick survey.  The four question survey will take approximately three minutes to complete and will assist us with prioritizing current projects, improving communications and determining furture projects and member services.  A clean, green and safe Chastain Park benefits members, neighbors, park visitors and the surrounding community.

Thank "Ewe" for Joining Us!

Kudzu was the favorite item on the menu today at the Breakfast with the Sheep!  Approximately 250 people attended the second annual event.  Trees Atlanta co-hosted the event with us here at the CPC Barn.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, in partnership with PNC Bank, will present a forum entitled, "Green Spaces in Atlanta: Whose Green Space Is It?" on June 27, 2013 at 6:30 PM at Georgia Public Broadcasting, 260 14th Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.  The event is free and open to the public.

Did you know that a run in the park, visit to a concert or day at the pool could be worth $100,000 for Chastain Park?  This summer being active outdoors has never been more rewarding as The Coca Cola Company kicks off the fourth annual American is Your Park campaign.  Now through July 15th, park visitors can get active on behalf of Chastain Park to help win money for improvements and the title of "American's Favorite Park."
