Provide Your Feedback on Walk Chastain Design Plans

Walk Chastain final design plans are completed and will be presented to the public at two upcoming meetings.  You are invited to attend (meeting details listed below) and provide your feeback.   The goals of the design were to make the path along Powers Ferry safer and wider and more enjoyable for park users.  You may view the plans here.  North View  Middle View  South View.

Design presentations will take place at the Chastain Park Civic Association Meeting on Monday, August 26th at 6:30 PM at the Chastain Horse Park and at the NPU-A Meeting on Tuesday, September 3rd at 7:00 PM at the Atlanta Speech School located at 3160 Northside Parkway.

The design increases safety by slowing traffic; improving pedestrian crossings; creating a barrier between pedestrians and cars; and by adding a natural screening/netting to improve golf ball protection.  The design widens the path from its current 4-5 foot width to 10-12 foot width, equal to or greater than the rest of the 10 foot wide Chastain path.  The plan design also enhances the beauty of the path by adding scenic and meandering sections.

Please plan on attending one of the presentation meetings and providing your feeback.  We appreciate your support in helping us make Chastain Park cleaner, greener and safer for all of our park visitors.
