CPC Christmas Tree Lot

Buy a Tree, Recycle a Tree, Plant a Tree AND Benefit the Chastain Park Conservancy!

Christmas is right around the corner! You can decorate your house AND support the CPC!

The Chastain Park Conservancy Christmas Tree Fundraising Program will once again feature beautiful Fraser fir trees from the Blue Ridge Mountains provided by Barefoot Mountain Farms. A portion of the proceeds will go to the CPC and your Park!

Come to the Chastain Park Red Lot (located just north of the Horse Park on Powers Ferry Road) today to buy your trees, wreaths and garland.

The CPC tree lot will be open Monday through Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday & Sunday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM

For those customers who would like to order a tree over 12 feet, we offer custom cut trees up to 18 feet.

Delivery and set up service is also available for an nominal fee.

Should you like to order a custom cut tree or set up a delivery time, call (404) 307-5287.

After the holidays, you can bring your tree back for recycling and receive a free tree sapling to plant at home. Chips will used for trails in the park. So remember — buy a tree, recycle a tree and plant a tree!

2011 CPC Fall Fundraiser – On A Green Night

Be a part of the “Community of Green” and join us for the Chastain Park Conservancy Fall Fundraiser “On A Green Night.”

The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 6th at the Chastain Park Amphitheatre.

You will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with neighbors and friends while enjoying a silent auction, live music, full bar and fabulous food from area restaurants.

Firewood For Sale

By Fall, our nicely seasoned firewood could be gone!

A full cord is $250 and a 1/2 cord is $150.

The prices include delivery and stacking fee.

Finalists Selected for the CPC Fall Fundraiser Art Contest

Twelve finalists were selected for the CPC Fall Fundraiser Art Contest. Students from Sutton, Galloway and Holy Innocents’ participated in the contest. The students were asked to design artwork to be used for invitations and poster promoting the CPC Fall Fundraiser, scheduled for Thursday, October 6, 2011. This year’s theme for the event is “On A Green Night – Be A Part of the Community of Green.”

CPC board members along with fall fundraiser planning committee members selected the finalists in May. Finalists will receive CPC hats and stickers and an invitation to attend the event with their parents. The winning submission will be selected from the finalists.

“These students are a very talented group. Selecting the finalists was not an easy task,” said Gip Johnston, CPC Executive Director. “Most of these students live around the Park, played sports at NYO and enjoyed the Park amenities so they have a love for the Park which certainly showed through their creative art.”

First Ever Chastain Park TriPATHlon – An Overwhelming Success!

Approximately 308 athletes participated in the first ever Mercedes-Benz of Buckhead Chastain Park TriPATHlon on Sunday, May 8th.

The weather was picture perfect for the event!

The TriPATHlon was held to recognize the PATH Foundation’s 20th anniversary and proceeds benefited PATH, Chastain Park Conservancy and Chastain Park Athletic Club.

Georgia MultiSports Productions produced the event. TriPATHlon was a USA Triathlon sanctioned event and consisted of a 400 year pool swim, 15 mile bike ride and 5K run.

Awards went to overall the over all top three finishers, Masters top three, Athena top three, Clydesdale 200 plus top three along with age group categories.

Overall female was Shannon Greenhill with a time of 1:17 and overall male was Stuart Makinson with a time of 1:09. For more results, click here.

Opportunities to Become a Fall Fundraiser Sponsor Now Open

Fall-Fundraiser Be a part of the community of green by participating as a corporate sponsor for our 2011 Fall Fundraiser “On A Green Night.” The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the Chastain Park Amphitheatre. Our theme for event is “Be a part of the community of Green.”

Your sponsorship will enable the Conservancy to continue to spearhead implementation of the Chastain Park Master Plan and assist in organizing thousands of volunteer hours to make Chastain Park safer, cleaner and greener!

The annual event features a “taste of Chastain” with food from Chastain’s best local restaurants, a great silent auction and live entertainment. Sponsorship levels are as follows:

Acknowledged as the title sponsor in event signage, publicity, and opening remarks – with the opportunity to speak at the event and distribute marketing materials. Advertisement in the event program, eight event tickets, VIP reception before the event, and a reserved table during the event.

Save The Date Believe it or not, planning is underway for our annual Chastain Park Conservancy Fall Fundraiser, “On A Green Night.”

Our theme for the year is “Be a part of a community of green.”

March Membership Madness at Chastain

Learn about new projects and renew your membership.

Sure as the dogwoods and azaleas bloom each spring, you will find us in the park this in March and April. It’s time to renew your membership in the Chastain Park Conservancy, if you haven’t already for 2011, and learn about new projects and developments!

Conservancy Board members will occupy a tent at the corner of Powers Ferry and Wieuca (in front of our new tennis center) on Saturdays, 10 am – 5 pm and Sundays, 12 pm – 4 pm, beginning March 12 and ending April 10. We’re seeking new members and helping existing members renew. We’ll also

show and tell about all that’s happened in 2010 and what we’ll

be doing in 2011.

Last year, we grew membership to 650 from 500, a 30% increase. Our goal is to do at least that well this year. We hope you will stop and visit. The park has never looked better. We have a lot to tell you, but would especially appreciate hearing your thoughts.
